Chlor-Alkali is a basic chemical process and industry that produces chlorine, caustic soda, and hydrogen simultaneously through the electrolysis of saturated brine. 
Industrially, electrolysis of saturated sodium chloride (NaCl) solution is used to produce sodium hydroxide (NaOH, caustic soda), chlorine,and hydrogen , forming a vast industrial chain based on these products.
 
Uses of caustic soda: 
papermaking, textile mercerizing, alumina production, chemical synthesis, water treatment, soap and detergent manufacturing.
 
Uses of chlorine: 
production of PVC, hydrochloric acid, bleaching agents, disinfectants, pesticides, organic chlorides, and water disinfection.
 
Uses of hydrogen: 
synthesis of hydrochloric acid, hydrogenation reactions, fuel cells, metal smelting, and high-purity hydrogen for the electronics industry.
