Discharge 3.1V Sodium Ion Battery Cylindrical Rechargeable Na Ion Cell
During the charge and discharge process, sodium-ion batteries achieve the storage and release of electrical energy through the reversible movement of sodium ions between the positive and negative electrodes. Specifically:

Charging process: Under the action of an external power source, sodium ions are released from the positive electrode material, migrate to the negative electrode through the electrolyte solution (usually containing dissolved sodium salt), and are embedded in the negative electrode material. At the same time, in order to maintain charge balance, electrons flow from the positive electrode to the negative electrode through the external circuit.
Discharge process: When the battery is discharged, the sodium ions embedded in the negative electrode material are detached, return to the positive electrode through the electrolyte solution, and are re-embedded in the positive electrode material. At this time, electrons flow from the negative electrode to the positive electrode through the external circuit, generating current for use by external devices.
